Not a bad episode for this series. It seems like most of the episodes have about the same proportion of comedy/romance/everyday life going on. At least this time you get some background on Yasuna and Tomari. Hooray for plot development! (not really that excited but developing plot is always a plus in stories like this)

There’s an interesting fondling session right at the beginning. Not really necessary but whatever, they tend to throw in small bits of it here and there. You find out that the aliens are now going to live with Hazumu to help improve their study of humans. Aparently they didn’t mess up Hazumu’s life enough by changing her gender. Sleepover party every night with Jan-puu!

Poor Asuta, really, I feel bad for him. Anytime Hazumu does something unlady-like he gets kicked or stomped on or something by Tomari. At least its not another anime where all the girls fall over the main male character. Technically Hazumu is a female now so I’m excluding it from the list of Harem anime.

And there goes Namiko-sensei to rescue Hazumu when she screams(once again), but this time she runs into the male alien and instantly falls in love. So much for her being loveless her whole life in the name of education. Its strange because she seems like the type of character that would have hearts popping out of her eyes every time a male walked by. I guess I’m a poor judge of anime personality.

We find out that Tomari is “popular” with the girls, and gets confessions all the time. You never hear much about this sort of thing in American High Schools, wonder why… But anyways, while we find this out about Tomari, Yasuna is in the background peeping at observing Hazumu. Of course she runs away, she’s a shy, insecure girl. And of course, Hazumu being the typical boy girl that she is, watches her run away and then notices the missing Primula.

Yasuna gets asked to go to a dance but refuses because she’s scared of boys. This is one of the weirdest problems i’ve seen a normal anime character have. Males seem to be blurry from her perspective. Maybe something bad happened to her to hate males, but in any case that’s pretty sad. It kind of explains why she refused Hazumu, but it doesn’t explain why she still has problems with Hazumu now that her gender is different.

AHH NOOOO! Poor sexual preditor Papa! Thwarted once again by a choke hold. I guess it serves him right for taking pictures of Jan-Puu. Tsk tsk tsk. (Death #2, RIP papa)

Ah more sad flashbacks from Yasuna about Hazumu. Admit you love her/him already and stop sulking. Geez. Well Hazumu takes the first step and spends the whole night searching for the Primula that Yasuna replanted, and returns it to her in the morning. They end up planting the Primula back in their “garden” and life is good. Or is it? Tamori seems to get jealous easy when it comes to how Hazumu spends her time. Uh oh!

Plot development is always good. I always tend to enjoy snipets of background information of main characters in any anime. I understand why most find them boring, but I find I can understand certain stories better, the more I know about it or the characters(without spoiling myself of course). I wouldn’t say this series is my favorite or anything, or that I liked this episode in particular, but it wasn’t bad. This series seems to deliver what you’d expect: small amount of comedy, romance, drama, school life, fanservice. Check.
