This whole episode was pretty much Tomari being uber jealous of Yasuna. Plenty of times throughout this episode you see Tomari on the sidelines observing the two having fun together and doing nothing. It also kind of hurts her that Hazumu isn’t making any effort to spend time with her (or so i think).

It seems to me, that my two favorite characters so far are Hazumu’s dad, and Namiko-sensei. The reason is simply because they always make me chuckle. Based on polls taken at the end of the series (since i’m slow as hell and just started blogging them now), those two characters are the lowest rated as favorites. That’s okay, I guess I’m different.

Although, I must admit I like when Tomari goes Ninja on Asuta every now and then. Yet I just can’t stand how she acts in this episode, so it kinda bumped her down on my list. Hazumu is cool but just too steroetypical always happy kinda character, and Yasuna is either not weird enough, or too weird to be normal so she’s not there either. I’m sure my opinions will change as the anime progresses.

Looks like Hazumu and Yasuna are getting rather close *winkwink**nudgenudge* Poor Tomari who just stands on the sidelines and watches. Do something about it ya pansy!

I like how they did the scene with Tomari and Yasuna outside in the rain. Tomari was acting kind of strange because she’s jealous of Yasuna and wants to spend time with Hazumu, and Yasuna has no idea there’s any sort of rivalry yet. Just the way Tomari stamers over her words and what to say next, it made the scene feel more real.

Of course Yasuna and Hazumu end up doing things Tomari would have whished they could still do (I’d assume as guy and girl since I’m pretty sure Tomari isn’t homosexual…yet). Buying matching dresses (zomg like a couple! *squeal*) and going to karaoke. Don’t forget the obligatory falling over onto someone and stradling them scene.

I like how Tomari goes crazy when she thinks about Yasuna and Hazuma being together. Sprinting super fast and doing crazyass fast situps after remembering the “strawberry incident” early on in the episode. I’ve had real life experience with this sort of thing and it kind of works like that. Most of the time you just upset yourself because you can’t really run any faster or lift more or whatever. But it does help to scream or grunt or something like that.

Watch out! Yasuna is coming on to you!!!!!

And thank god Tomari actually did something for once. Screaming Hazumu’s name right before they kissed was clutch (like MJ). Now it’ll probably be weird between all three of them but now we know how everyone feels. Let the games begin?
