Naruto Fillers Ending?

Okay, okay. It seems like this topic is starting to get a little out of hand. Everywhere I go I’m hearing talk about how Naruto fillers are going to end. OMG it’s the end of the world! Everyone run around pulling their hair out! I said it before, I will make no claim to any knowledge of the so called end of the filler episodes.
For those in search of a quick answer: Yes, the Fillers will end Feb. 15, 2007.
What I will do though, is give all you curious Naruto fans some places to go. I’m sure most of you have been around the block in terms of Naruto blogs and forums, but here is where I go to check my data regularly.
First, I always check out Anime News Network(ANN) for any anime related info. They usually only have VA info and Title of episodes etc. What’s interesting though, is they somehow get episode titles in advance, so anyone who’s curious about Naruto fillers using ANN, check here, and here. In the episode list, scroll to the bottom and look for any future episodes labeled “Kakashi Gaiden” or anything remotely similar.
If you like to read forums, and believe they’re more useful than ANN, you can try any of these for your info:
- 4chan - Most of the information will be in the /a/ section (/a/ for anime duh!). Be careful though, there’s a ton of shit NSFW(not safe for work) on this forum. Also, be sure to check daily since the forums update/delete most of their stuff daily.
- iichan
- narutorealm - Might need to register, look in the Anime/Manga section
- AnimeSuki forums - Naruto Section of course
- NarutoFan
- Baka-Updates forums
Also, almost anyone who blogs for, or is associated with AnimeBlogger and is currently blogging about Naruto(which is basically only me @_@), usually have said something about this whole fiasco.
Keep your eyes and your minds open. Don’t believe everything everyone says on the internet, just because it sounds good. I honestly see no true connection between the OP/ED, Naruto Movie 3, or any other hidden meanings that people have found. If the fillers do end, what a pleasant surprise that will be. If not, meh, I’ll still be blogging and watching Naruto, so it doesn’t matter too much. Just so long as they don’t fuck up the second part, it’s all good. They can take all the time they need to make it perfect.
Update(Sept. 22nd):
It seems that this is still an issue for a lot of people, even though the initial hype has died down quite a bit. My suggestion is still to keep checking Anime News Network for episode names. There is a special coming up to celebrate the Naruto Movie, and it is also conviently placed at the start of a new season(so be patient). Also, check out some of the comments below, they introduced some good information and reasonable possibilities. Remember, expect the worst and you’ll almost always be satisfied! *wink*
Episode 202-204 Special (Updated Oct. 9th):
Through various scenes in the OP and ED, we can see grown up versions of most of the characters. The last 2-3 seconds of the ED shows us a glimpse of Naruto in a new outfit and possibly older. This can be one of two things: a clever ploy in order to keep viewers watching by pretending the fillers are ending soon, or that they plan on ending the fillers soon and have created an OP/ED that’s appropriate for such. Take what you will from that. I see no evidence in OP/ED’s. A lot of times they have material that is never seen in the series, so really these could mean anything.

Final Update: It was announced a while ago that Naruto fillers will be ending February 15, 2007. That would be about episode 221 or so. Hope you all enjoy the new season which will be called Naruto Hurricane Chronicles or Naruto Shippuuden.

Nice entry here, Rets. Naruto Fillers ending have been catching some nasty tailwind over at 4chan.org specifically.
General bets are that Fillers, if they do end, should end around episode 204. But there have been claims that the Naruto vendor which holds the anime license, wishes to break away from the manga storyline to continue with the Filler succession.
You’ll find me trolling/posting on 4chan quite a bit, so I will hope to see some of you folks there! If its your first time in /a/, ignore the haters and try to avoid posting (I have gotten flamed 1000s of times). Also stay away from the other boards in general, its NSFW.
But the concensus is quite simple to grasp, we all want the Fillers out and we want some awesome Kakashi Gaiden eps. Now.
Don`t trust ANN. Everybody can edit info there and lately a lot of idiots has been adding false titles.

The most logical begining part for Naruto 2 is Episode 209. It’s the new season for the Japanese audience. It will give the animators 2 years of manga material before they would catch up to where they are now in the manga–calculations are based on the ratio of Naruto 1 manga and the Naruto 1 anime. Do the math yourselves if you don’t believe me. That is including the Kakashi Gaiden arc, though, so I don’t expect Kakashi Gaiden this season (Japan). If the animator decide to start at episode 209 then they shouldn’t catch up to the manga again until the manga actually ends.
I don’t think they will branch too far away from the manga storyline. I don’t think it’s that great of a business decision. We all will stop following Naruto if we do find out that they took the route of changing the story. They won’t though, believe me, the story is too good.

Sounds good. I’m keeping my eyes open on as many sources as possible. I won’t hope for anything since I don’t feel like being let down, but I think the new season would be the most likely time for an end of the fillers.

Thank you for the links! They helped a lot, and I’m thinking they really MGIHT end around episode 209… or a massive riot would be held in the streets of Japan, and various other parts of America, consisting of enraged Naruto fans.
Also… isn’t that screen cap from Ep. 101? …Yeah! It is! About 2 minutes into the episode before Naruto convinces Sasuke to help him and Sakura on their… “mission.”

Hopefully the fillers will be ending soon, but I’m still not getting my hopes up too much. In my mind I expect another year of fillers so when the fillers finally stop, what a pleasant surprise that will be!
And yes, you’re right, Episode 101. It wouldn’t be too hard to figure out if you read my previous naruto post which mentioned ep. 101. Episode 101 is by far my favorite filler episode in naruto. Oh yeah..You’re the winner woohoo feel proud!

It all comes down to one thing: Money.
They probably thought they would sell more merchandise and produce more movies the longer they kept the show on the air.
I seriuosly hope that The filler ends at episode, The producers know that regardless of what we say and complain about the fillers, we are still going to continue watching the anime and that’s a very bitch move on their part. Anyways, all we can do is wait and hope for the better.
I stopped watching after the 2nd filler arc and havnt seen a single episode since. Will start to watch it again when the fillers end. So the producers really cant rely on everyone still watching it because its not good and the reason everyone is watching it is becasue they believe the fillers will end soon and they dont want to miss out on the transistion, if there will be any, from the filler to the manga storyline.
I’ll say one thing Nils: Good move. Also, you’re probably right about people watching in hopes that the fillers will end soon.
Can I truly say I’ve been watching for 67 episodes hoping that the fillers would end? I actually stopped watching for ~2 months but decided to pick it back up when Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuustu premiered. Despite all that, I’ve still be following the manga so even if there are fillers, I still feel like I get a good dose of Naruto every week(even though the manga seems to be struggling a little).
They will probably end at episode 300. LOL. I know im bein pessimistic here but hey, its been like, forever now. Plus dattebayo keeps on lying and making everying sweat in anticipation so the disapointment of seeing ANOTHER filler ep is a killer.
Im really scared to say this but since there is a new op and ed theme, they might be thinking of continuing the fillers for ANOTHER season. *cries in agony*
LOL! Episode 300, crap, just kill me now please. At this rate, I’ll be ranting about crappy naruto episodes till I’m 40. Wouldn’t that just be a bundle of joy…
I’m starting to wonder if maybe they’ll have two naruto shows going at once in the near future. A naruto filler series, and then a new series that starts up where they left off at episode 135.
There’s a lot of buzz going around saying that Naruto will end around episode 209. If it does NOT end there, then the fillers will continue until the show is cancelled. So remember, if it goes past that point, they will only make episodes to “entertain” the public and the episodes will have nothing to do with the manga. The manga will continue but the show will end, leaving thousands upon thousands disappointed.

I’ve danced that idea around myself as well. The only thing I could come up with was this:
First of all, Naruto is a continuous storyline. Having said that, I think it’s fair enough to say that conventional “anime seasons” don’t really apply to Naruto.
So the simple response is probably that there is no such thing as a set date for when the fillers should end. Sure it would probably be SMART to end them concurrently with the completion of this Naruto season, but it’s not required. They could end it episode 215 and have an easier time creating a nice plot to send naruto off to training. Hell we could even see him train. You never know man, you never know.
I am sick and tired watching these pointless low budget shitty fillers, If you compare A filler episode with a non filler episode you will probably notice a great difference of anime quality, cinematic and fluid moves, which certainly require a great deal of effort in the pierrot studio, having said that this difference comes at a high price, to compensate that, the studio need to earn more money to cover the same quality anime in the non fillers episode by applying more thoughtful storyline like in the manga and so on. so the studio need to produce more filler and side stories which involves different characteres like hinata, chouji, ino, kiba to push people to buy their figurines and all sort of marchandinsing related to these characteres, remember the most recurent characters in the non fillers episodes are mainly Naruto, Sakura, Suske, Kakashi, Orochimaru…etc, which is good for fans obviousely, personnely I want to see more of Kakashi vs Itachi, learn more about akatsuki and their members, and also i would like to see full scale fight between itachi and orocimaru, just to find out, why orochimaru feares him.
However, the marketing department as always takes an other direction, too boost their earnings, usually not in favor of the fan which is absolutely the case with naruto fillers, I just hope to see them put an end to these fillers and resume the story very soon.

The only thing that can be done is to sit and wait. Hopefully they’re kind enough to save us all from our misery and pain. Another season or even another handful of naruto fillers would be painful as all hell.
Well that’s true. Originally, the filler was supposed to be used so that the manga can distance itself from the anime. A manga chapter usually covers about 1.5 episodes I believe, so with over a year of filler, they surely have enough episodes. Then there was some talk behind another reason, which was the licensing problems. It was said that the licensing would be finalized shortly after Naruto the Movie 3 aired in Japan. Not sure whether that happened or not, but one thing’s for sure. Prepare to watch a ton of Naruto fillers. Sure, there may be one arc or two out of the next 10+ arcs planned that may be interesting. Unfortunately, it won’t be anything one can find in the manga.

Yeah. In general, fillers are just a bad place to be as a viewer. You sit waiting for the story to pick back up every week and get no love. Its a hard life. That’s also why I started watching 1231412312 different animes. Naruto and Bleach just didn’t fulfill me anymore.
I still haven’t seen the 3rd movie yet either. Waiting is so boring…/yawn
Same. Haven’t checked out the lastest Naruto movie yet. The Bleach filler isn’t nearly as bad as the Naruto one (one nice thing at least). Sometimes, an episode or two in the current filler arc fails to deliver, but all-in-all, it works well. I’ve seem to have watched everything from Azumanga Daioh to Wolf’s rain in the span of these anime have run. Seems like I need some more stuff to watch in the meantime, heh.
the third movie came out O_o?!!!! id watch the damn movies over and over just to get away from these fillers… so what episode did the fillers actually start at? ( is it after the fight with naruto and sasuke) and where does it end (is it at episode 200 T___T)???? anyways about the movie…it came out already with english subbs?!!!!!
