Oh hohoho, peeping Tom? At least it’s not Ume in the tub…

    Rating: 7/10

Crows: 4 (technically only 2 but its 2 different shots and I’m generous)

Not a bad episodes at all in terms of plot development. I didn’t find anything in this episode overly exciting or funny, but things have finally started getting moving and Kogarasumaru is getting some recognition.

Okay so, due to some strange phenomenon, the shemale turned into a normal female with huge boobs and a normal looking face. Don’t ask me how, but it just happened. Although it’s wonderful that it’s not some transsexual being, it could have added a little bit of a twist to have Agito kidnapped or something. They pulled a good ol’ switcheroo on us…how can they draw the same lady differently in two episodes!? So sad.

Not really sure what the point of this was, but it was a nice gesture on Agito’s part. It shows that he’s growing feelings for Ikki and his friends, and wants to help them out. I kind of said a little “aww, how touching”(being half sarcastic) under my breath.

Simca kind of goes through a transformation in this episode. It’s not a horrible transformation, but it’s not the best one either. I kind of liked her long hair. It kind of was all that I thought was sexy about her. Sure she’s got big boobs (which are popping out in the picture below), and damn saucy attitude, but there’s something about her I don’t find sexy. Her hair and her dress was all she had going for her, and she got rid of both of them. So very sad. At least now Ringo’s hotness way above Simca’s.

    A hair comparison…Before:

    And, after:

Kinda scary? It actually looks okay in this shot, but it’s pretty ugly when she’s moving around and doing stuff. Oh well. Like I said, it takes her out of the running pretty much for hottest Air Gear female. Ringo is by far the hottest now(I mean c’mon she’s Croissant Mask).

Here’s a nice shot of Ikki being “cool” and I fucking love it:

    ag21-3.jpg

I laughed out loud when they did this. I’m not really sure why, but it was just a classic Ikki moment, and I just couldn’t help myself. He said something like, “You kidding? Whoever tries to invade our territory…we’ll kill them.”(courtesy of Lechie subs). And what the hell, he PURRS afterwards. Yes. I said purr. He fuckin purrs…leading to Buccha’s comment, “The dreaded one has come out” in response to Ikki trying to be cool now that he’s all popular. Ah, lovely scene.

Of course they get all pumped up and go save their territory from invaders all night, which of course turns into an impossible task and they all end up lying on the floor exhausted.

Meanwhile, Simca dons some sexy combat attire(not as sexy as without her bloomers or whatever the hell she’s got on underneath her school dress). And yes, her boobs are still at large. I’m sure they’ve got their own Zipcode. Don’t as me how she manages to fly around on ATs with those proportions, but she does. I thought this was a nice shot so I took it, even though it doesn’t really help explain anything that’s happened in this episode.

I’m glad we finally know that Ironclock is gay. He literally states it in this episode, that females don’t turn him on. Maybe he prefers Agito? Loli-yaoi? Maybe Ikki? Nah, probably Kazu. Hmm I wonder how popular that would be if they actually expanded on this. I’d probably just be laughing the whole time, but I bet they’d lose viewers. Sad. In other news, Mikan is pretty hot, although I prefer her in her AT clothing.

So…yeah. It turns out that Simca just kinda happens to be the leader of this team called Genesis, and she kinda wants Genesis to join Kogarasumaru. Surprise! No you’re not being punk’d, Simca kinda just loves you now! Seriously though, I thought the whole scene where Simca comes walking up and offers Genesis to Ikki and everyone bows with her. They really do a good job with the massive bowing scenes. I think it’s the music that does it for me.

In general, I thought it was an awesome developmental episode. There weren’t any dazzling AT acrobatics or any super funny scenes, but the plot is finally moving along. Ikki is finally becoming well known in the AT community, and his goal is getting closer every episode. The next episode is a semi filler and not as cool, but it continues with this whole plot development thing. Seriously though, bring back the fanservice and some awesome AT action. There’s really not enough of both. I feel like the quality of the show is going down, when it should really be going up. /sadface
