This is my perfect wet dream as well... Glad to see he actually sleeps Nice 'artistic' shot Panda-kun's gun is quite large Pandownage Cute

    Rating: 8.5/10

I thought this was a great episode. A lot of times it’s hard to match the same quality as the first episode, but I think this was damn close (about the same as the second episode). They did a good job and I’m looking forward to whatever might happen in the future. Hopefully they’ll keep this level of detail in their art, and also not stray from the plot too much. Last week we had a nice view of Alice’s past and got to see a little bit behind her motives. This week, the general focus was more towards Panda-kun.

They seem to be trying to take a mysterious angle when talking about Panda-kun and his past, but I wonder how long they can hide the truth from us viewers before we get bored. The longer they hold out, the less we’ll care in the future. Normally that wouldn’t be true, but in this case I think it is because they can only have so many tank battles before we say, “fuckit tell us already or I quit!” HOPEFULLY the whole series doesn’t ride on the mystery behind Panda-kun and what he really is. I’m hoping they really are taking the “save the world” approach and knowing Panda’s past is just an easter egg for us viewers.

In any case, I’m hungry for more so they better give me more! Right now, I don’t really care if they’re blatantly teasing me with small amounts of information. They’re also throwing in some uncertainty amongst the Pumpkin Scissors crew which looks like it may turn into some juicy drama. I have a feeling that we’ll be seeing a lot of sneaking around and the like from all of them in order to learn more about Panda-kun. As the viewer, we know he’s typically a gentle-mannered guy, but his schizo-lantern is hard to ignore sometimes.

There was some super subtle Panda x Alice action this episode but I still found it enjoyable. It seems he admires her for her strength and ability to believe in the war relief effort, but maybe there’s more? She obviously cares about him if she fell asleep watching over him as he got better. Hopefully this mutual admiration will turn into something more in the future.

    1. The quality was definitely better this episode, and the story was much more interesting. Combined with Terminator gunning down that APC/tank and all the blood splatters, I’d have to say this episode is my favorite thus far. It also looks like Orlando really is some experiment from the war…

    2. […] Although it wasn’t as significant as the past few episodes, there was a bit of development with both Orlando’s and Alice’s feelings, though this was not as a pairing. The two merely worked off past experiences together to advance their, um…interest in each other. As Retsgip pointed out, Orlando probably just admires Alice for her strong will and duty of justice, which could definitely spiral into true love anytime now…nah, not true love, but his interest in her will definitely increase as they spend more time together (well, what else could that dream of her be?) Speaking of his dream, the Alice part wasn’t the most important part so why am I talking about that so much? The most significant part of the dream was the first part, when Orlando dreamt of what seemed to be his creation (or at least times when he was still in his 901 ATT platoon. There also seems to be something to do with German, but anime tends to include of foreign languages in anyway, mainly English, German and French. And what about that scientist at the start of the episode? Was that part of the dream too, or something that really happened? I think it was an event in the past, but not part of the dream as there wouldn’t be any way for Orlando to have been there to dream about it. Unless of course, the script writers decided to be lazy and just make everything convenient for themselves, which I think it highly unlikely. On a side note, the quality returned to normal this episode, so let’s hope it stays that way. […]

    3. This episode exaands the possibilities. We are already given certain facts, but if the unknowns remain mysteries, there may be some awkwardness in the plotline. The feeling to PS seems like it wants to cover the ground complete, live little doubt about details, but not all at once.

The mysteries, et al will probably be hidden for a bit, but I don’t think it will drive the story; or I hope it doesn’t anyway. As long as Panda doesn’t pull out some ’special’ move that makes him level up, I think we’re doing good.
      ^^

    4. Toten Sie…

Panda-kun has obviously been conditioned to think and act like a killer the moment he sees an enemy tank. The Nightmare he had was by far the best scene in the episode, especially the part where Alice comes in with an angelic glow and then “saves” him from his bad memories. Its his subconcious telling him how important she is to him.

With relations to Pandakun’s Background, just watch the OP Carefully, there is a part where he has wires attached to him and he is yelling. If that doesnt give away that he was some experiment for the war effort, then I dont know what is :p.

Looking good so far, and I agree with Ryan A…as long as he doesn’t KAMEHAMEHA in the next episode, we should be sweet.

      Cheers.

    5. Well at least you guys all seemed to agree that this episode was well done and it seems that they’ve opened up some new plot pathways. I think the most important thing they need now is to keep as much realism as they can and develop the characters more. If they’re continually developing the characters, I don’t mind massive tank battles scattered here and there. And the most important part: Panda x Alice (what can I say I love my relationships). More please.
