As much as I abso-fucking-lutely love this series, I’m afraid I’ll have to put it on hold. The computers in my parent’s house just can’t handle the high resolution that Lunar subs. So if anyone was wondering where the Bartender recaps were, well that’s the reason. I was surprised I was able to even take this snapshot before it froze my computer. Anyways, I’m getting a laptop for Christmas, so I’m hoping that should be enough power to run the high resolution.
As a side note, if anyone has any suggestions on what I can do to help smooth out my viewing, that would be awesome. I currently using VLC media player on default settings with an ancient P3 1GHz laptop with a built in video card that was just labeled “Mobility Raedon.”

You could try installing the Communist Codec Pack and play it with windows media player or the included Zoom Player which I personally like. I have no idea if their h264 decoder is any more efficient but it’s probably worth a try. After you install it, there should be options to turn off the postprocessing and deblocking. VLC might have options like that somewhere but I haven’t used it since it before it supported h264.
Sorry to hear your computer is chugging along in pain (its about that time to put ol’Betsy to sleep, so she may go to Laptop Heaven). Plus its understandable if you have to hold out on Gartender because of technical difficulties. Here’s to hoping you get your new rig up and running soon!
Yeah, same here. I’m using an Athlon 1800+ which is also laggy. I’m trying various players to test it but all the same. If I tried to play it on my PC, the temperature will raise to >60C from my standard 50C. Unfortunately, I’m not planning to get a new PC anytime soon. So I have to think of another way to continue it. I haven’t saw it in my local anime shop yet.
@maverick: Ha I actually just did that before you posted. It helped a little bit and actually made it viewable for the most part, but it still lagged every minute or so. Also, the big downside is I have no clue how to take pics using windows media player.
@darkshaunz: ol’Betsy has lived a long and pleasant life. She’s practically always been plugged into a power source, never causing her to work a muscle in her life to conserve her strength. All I ask from her is a little love, and she gives me the finger. /sadpanda
@Darren: If they released lower resolution versions of the show it would fix everything, but that requires more work for the subbers. Not really sure how popular Bartender is so I don’t think Lunar is caring all that much.

I prefer WMP than VLC because WMP allows saving in JPG format while VLC save to PNG as default.
I wonder what happens to Ideology and Studio ADTRW since both there were playable in my PC. I’m not sure why they do it HD but a lot of fans will be disappointed.
