Even though it was a generic beach episode, I thought they did a damn good job of it. The exciting random nature of the show reasserted itself and did a pretty good job of not being over the top. I liked how everyone randomly showed up at the beach the exact same day that Riku and Kasuga were going on their beach date, because it allowed for a lot more possibilities in terms of humor and drama.

I was uber disappointed in Amamiya’s lack of swimwear and also the camera’s inability to focus in on Mina’s important parts. Still, all the drama seems to be Kasuga vs. the world, which isn’t the best drama, but at least it’s drama. We didn’t see Amamiya flip out when Riku was gonna get mouth to mouth from Mina, but Kasuga sure did. Also, Mina didn’t seem very jealous that Kasuga and Riku were on a date. I want to see Amamiya or Mina flip out a little bit when they see Riku with another woman, but it’s just not happening. I guess in time they’ll develop some jealousy, but so far, the lack of jealousy is really killing some juicy possibilities. Small blushes here or there, or little things like a girl catching a glimpse and showing a surprised look would make SO much of a difference in terms of drama. It’d really create the feeling that the girls are “fighting” over him.
Poor, poor Kasuga.
I had written quite a bit in this entry but when I updated it, it all got erased. SOOO, I’ll try and paraphraze what I wrote. The reason I think Kasuga will lose is because Riku doesn’t visit her like he visits the other females. He actively persues Mina and Amamiya, but with Kasuga, he only shows up when something is wrong or she’s feeling down. This means that even though he has a desire to keep Kasuga happy, his other desires take precedence (e.g. spending time with Mina or Amamiya). We’ve seen examples of this in the past few episodes, and a little bit this episode when Riku ignores Kasuga once they finally find an uncrowded spot because Amamiya is reading under an umbrella. Seriously, poor Kasuga, but at least she wont be winning this thing. The word “win” also got me thinking, and what I think is that nobody will win, which will suck bigtime, but won’t be out of the ordinary.

Rets, you are an Hero. Bad luck about wordpress carpetbombing your hard work (blame the Gummi Bears). Firstly, Kasuga is hot (yes, its obligatory, but still needs to be said). That two piece is just delicious, and looks like the characters just can’t get enough of the ass shots (I’m definitely not complaining). Also, the teachers look like a bunch of MILFS (Haruhi help me). You mentioned that Riku doesn’t actively pursue Kasuga, but she’s clearly super delicious, maybe Riku’s eyesight is failing him (how does he not want to hit that?).
I laughed at that Evil Professor-Teacher cap. That guy is seriously win, I bet he was up to no good with that crab. Maybe he was plotting to raise a secret crab army, but whatever he was doing, I bet it was awesome. If Kasuga doesn’t win, then can I have her? =O. Also, the “Tokimeki Memomiral Only Love” Gar - Picture sequence looks kinda cool (Yakuza chicken doesn’t look too impressed though).
Overall, your sexiest Toki wrapup yet Rets. You not only delivered the goods, but threw in all those little extras like MILFs, GAR and Yakuza Chicken. Still, I can’t believe Riku is not actively chasing Kasuga (maybe his brain is failing him, like his eyesight).

Random Thoughts on Tokimeki Memorial Ep09
..) I found the scene of Aoba having two sand hills and a sand Tokyo Tower on top of him strangely disturbing. Exactly what frames of mind were his friends in? And the crotch-rub to his face, GOOD GRIEF! I would be scarred for life if that happened to me.
..) Razzle-Dazzle Ryoichi strikes again with his pseudo-4th Wall-breaking references to the show’s title. Personally, his character scares me, but that may be just his radiance blinding me.
..) Pan-Lady( with her abacus) and Yagen-sensei are love.
..) They finally ’sexualised’ the Homeroom teacher. Heck, they sexualised all the previously demure teachers. Fanservice, full steam ahead.
..) “Higi! Haoh Daigeki Otoshi -Jutsu?”
Strangely enough, the first thing that came to mind was Sasuke’s( from Naruto) trademark Fireball jutsu. Probably because of the way the words were broken up.
If only Naruto could excite me this much… *sobs*
..) What happened to the pink-haired girl that was head-over-heels with Inukai? Dumped? Rejected? Eaten by cats?
..) So close. Mina almost got to kiss Aoba before the other girls. You know, I find it funny that when it comes to anime, they always focus on the ‘kissing’ part of CPR, but never talk about the hand-over-heart compression.
Think about it. If it is guy-on-girl, we’re talking about unintentional comedy over boob-squashing. You ever tried pumping a busty girl’s chest? It’s bloody annoying! The boobs get in the way! Ah yes… the perverted memories of my First-Aid courses.
Of course, now that I have mentioned it, females around the world reading this will be mortified by my comments and think I am some sort of sick pervert. ;_;

Darkshaunz: Yeah dude, I hit update from the html window, and the only thing that got saved were the pictures. I was like WTF! So I had to rewrite everything, which of course I slacked on and kinda just zipped through the second time. That wasn’t the best part of the evil professor. He actually flung off his clothes at the very end of the scene as the screen goes white…

-Dude, lol, CPR on big-brested women MUST be a chore. I haven’t experienced such a feat, but no doubt it’s a pain in the ass.
As for kissing, I think they focus too much on it. People kiss a lot and sometimes it has no meaning. They could have Riku kiss all the girls, but at the very end have like a REAL kiss with the one he chooses(you know, with fireworks and stars and shit flying everywhere) and it’d be just as touching as if it were the “first kiss.” I dunno, just my 2cents.
