Kakashi’s dogs are so badass

Well, we’re finally getting into a decent filler arc, and I think there’s a reason why this is happening. For starters, there is so much damn hype for the new season that people might have actually started watching the fillers to see what’s up. If they see some crappy filler shit, they’re not going to be as excited for Naruto Shippuuden as if they see some good filler shit. So, in a way, these next few episodes are like foreplay to the sex that is Naruto Shippuuden, and we’re the female. If they don’t satisfy us and get us into the mood, they’ll be cruisin’ for a bruisin’ later on.

So, Kakashi finally makes an appearance after something ridiculous like being absent for 20 episodes straight. It was nice to finally see him and his ridiculously awesome personality. Him reading his ero-novels while his dogs went off to search for clues, and then almost getting caught was fucking classic. It was quite reminiscent of the old bell exercise. My only concern is if he’ll even have a big part in this arc. He seemed to be doing something relevant to the story, but most of the focus was on the Sand and the gang that departed Konoha to help. I lol’d at the scene where Naruto caught Shikamaru and Sakura talking alone on a roof. I don’t know how long it’s been since I actually laughed at one of the jokes on this show. Lets just say it’s been awhile.

As for the nature of this arc, it’s going to turn into another one of those Konoha Gennin to the rescue story lines which can be exciting, but is kind of overused. I miss watching missions that involve a Jounin and three Gennin. With that combo, we get to see some badassery mixed in with some character development of the youngsters. Now it feels like they’re trying to sell all the Gennins to the viewer and show us that they’re strong when really nothing has changed.

Cute.

I don’t know how the writers can live with themselves after revealing a portion of Naruto Shippuuden. Like, what? They couldn’t wait until February 15, they just haaaaad to throw in some Shukaku business. Well, whatever, it’s not a major spoil or anything, and it might even clue the viewer in a little bit and remind them what a Shukaku is, and why they’re special. In fact, me even saying something about it, is more spoilage than they could have ever done. No worries though, if you haven’t read the manga, you shouldn’t really care about what I’m saying anyways. I’m just ranting at a little bit of unnecessary foreshadow action, thats all.

I was kind of surprised at how weak the Sand village is being portrayed. Do they really not have any means to teach their upcoming ninjas? I did not know this little piece of candid information, and automatically assumed they had some to do so because the Sand Gennins are badass.

Side note: I like how Gaara got the emo chick, kinda fitting.

By the way, M.I.N.P can carry one damn hellova tune, and they put out some great singles this year. My favorite is called “Don’t hate the player, hate the main stream corporations,” but they have plenty other awesome hits. They also do various modeling jobs such as the photo seen above.

So basically, we’ve got a band of M.I.N.P, and they want Gaara’s power. We’ll probably see how much Gaara has changed from the boy he once was by the end of this whole ordeal.   After somehow rescuing his only student, all the other students will probably think he’s the Cat’s meow and hop on the Gaara bandwagon.  This will probably induce some sort of Gaara smile, completing a full circle back to this episode when Temari told him to smile.  Won’t that be cute? I think so.

In any case, it should be fun watching everyone fight. Pretty decent episode for a filler, and I have high hopes for the rest of the arc. I don’t think I’ve written so much in a Naruto post in hella days.
