Following someone’s finger with your eyes never took so much effort
Rating: 8.7/10
Yes, hell hath frozen over, and the self-proclaimed MILF lover has fallen for the charm of quite possibly the loliest show of the season. How could this have happened? I point my finger at Kurogane and Danny who kept telling me to watch it until I gave in, those bastards. When you see me in hell, you know who’s to blame for my descent into the unending fire. *shakes fist*
I pretty much only have one theory for this anime, which is that it is made for a young female audience. The scenes and the ideals all focus on a majority of themes like friendship, trying hard, and having fun. In a way, it feels like the show is trying to motivate females to get out there and have fun with their friends, join the student counsel, meet some new people, stand up for your beliefs, act stupid, the works. It’s so refreshing that I can’t help but be sucked in by its easygoing and joyous nature.
As for the loli aspect, it’s practically non-existent. Sure these girls are drawn in a very loli-esque manner, but that’s not the focus of the show. After watching two episodes, I have yet to see a panty shot, or even something close to fappable. Hell, the girls are drawn a little bit chubby anyways (to be cuter I think) which I don’t see being appealing to any pedos out there. If you’re going to love something while watching this, it’s going to be the girls’ personalities and their interactions with one another. That’s just my take on it though.
Premise:
Basically it’s about a group of four girls who, coincidentally or not, all end up becoming friends with a girl named Manami (nickname Manabi) and I guess their adventures together. The first episode was basically introducing Manabi and letting us get a feel for her personality, her quirks, and seeing how she interacts in a new environment. We also get to see Manami and Mika become friends, which should be the start of a strong relationship. I don’t expect much yuri action but if there is, it will be between Mika and Manami for sure.
Characters:
I’m wondering if the fact that all their names starts with the letter “M” has any significance at all.

Mika: Clumsy, somewhat shy, but very friendly

Manami: Strong-willed, somewhat mischievous, outgoing and friendly

Mutsuki: Tomboy, good at sports, usually pretty physical with the other girls

Mei: Quiet, opinionated, prone to rivalries or conflict

Momoha: Kind of aloof, quirky, records the group and their exploits on tape.
Enjoy!

i watch it for the cuteness and comedy
and someone on the production team must like the letter M!
If ARIA can have an all-star cast with names starting with A, Manabi can have a cast with names that all start with M.
Cheers.
Also, all of their last names start with a vowel.
Must have sub for this!
I’m still waiting for subs. gah!
Guys, have you checked the kawaii power level of this anime yet?
Dunno about you, but I like Mei already. She has the loli tsundere potential.
@danny: yeah, I enjoy the comedy of this show as well. It doesn’t force anything, which is great.
@skane: ahhh, didn’t know :p
@einhorn: nice catch, must be an little easter egg or something
@leon & TedFox: Seriously, no need the sub. You can understand 90% of what happens without them, even with my extremely limited vocab.
@darkshaunz: word brotha.
this is supposed to be Seinen i think one must see and decide for him self
that remind me before i know anime all what i know that there is cartoon for childern then i saw hunterxhunter and it is was great then i get in to anime which turned to be the best thing in my life i really cant live without anime
yes this is definitely Seinen. Some Seinen anime works at invoking nostalgia. This episode makes me think about my days in JC.. where everyone took the sch song for granted. A beautiful episode and overall a very enjoyable watch.
Retsgip, I hate you. You have made me start watching this adorable show. (Where I download?)
@qwerty: indeed. I tend to like the anime focused on children because they usually portray good morals and values to their viewers.
@dKiWi: I agree. This reminded me a little bit of high school, but not so much as some other animes because of the uh….all girl thing…
@einsteinmonkey: I’m here to serve (and corrupt). I use tokyotosho to download the torrents which is under anime resources on my sidebar. Hope you enjoy it
@einhorn: It’s actually even funnier than that. All of their last names start with the vowel that is the second letter of their first names.
omg it’s even more! Each vowel is represented:
A Manami
E Mei
I Mika
O Momoha
U Mutsuki
