A cry for musical knowledge (Nodame)

“Kyaaaa! Chiaki-sama!!!”
Okay, this is driving me nuts. I need a musical expert to help me figure out which song is being played in particular Nodame Cantabile scenes because apparently I lack both internet browsing skills, and classical music recognition skills. Twice now it has appeared (possibly more), both times involving someone yearning for Chiaki’s hot body.
The times in which it appears in Nodame Cantabile(anime):
- Episode 3 - 02:30-02:43 (Masumi looking at Chiaki walk by)
- Episode 6 - 18:38-18:50 (Nodame
droolingstaring at Chiaki as he sleeps)
If you can tell me what it is, I may just kiss you…with tongue…for at least an hour.

Kagebunshin RUL-Oh wait, this isn’t the thread for it yet.
Not too sure if it’s a musical piece. Could be a BGM made for the anime so you are probably better off waiting for the OST to come out.
How about providing the mp3 sample for those of us who don’t watch??
Off-hand, it sounds like original BGM - not a classical piece.
About that music, with 95% certainty
1. It is Piano piece with orchestral accompaniment
2. It is composed after 1901.
3. Was composed not for classical performance.
With 70% probability
4. This was composed before Nodame Cantabile
5. The best bet is to search through famous romantic music composed for the movies, probably made between 60s to 80s, as it sounds too lush to be 50s.
I vote for original BGM.
I vote for original BGM as well. So far in “Nodame Cantabile” if they ever use actual classical pieces as BGM (often with a non-classical arrangement), it’s usually of a highly recognizable piece.
The music sounds too familiar to be an original BGM made for Nodame Cantabile series. I would seriously ask this question to those who watched lots of romantic movie classics.
@Darkshaunz: YEAH NARUTO RU–wait wtf?
@Adun, @dsong, @hung, @mike: That’s what I’m thinking too. It’s probable that this is an original piece, but I was hoping it wasn’t so I could get it sooner ;p
@TedFox: I don’t have the know-how to do such a thing or I would have. I tried to use the built in “sound recorder” but that failed miserably.
@wontaek: yeah to me it seems almost not like a classical piece at all, but rather some sort of movie song. It’s not quite as in depth as it should be or something.
One possibility that I had was that it sounded a lot like Chopin - Concerto Pour Piano No. 2 (Op. 2), but dumbed down to an unhealthy level which actually sounds good…But then again, it’s basically a different song. So lost, so sad.
I did little search and some music analysis of the passage, and I need to revise my prediction. I now believe it is an instrumental version of a love song, likely to be Japanese origin, and may have been popular at its time. The melody is very lyrical, but the slow rising flow of the melody works much better with highly syllabic language like Korean or Japanese. The melodic theme is very lovely, and I would like to hear that song in its entirety.
In case anyone was still wondering about this, I’ve confirmed another location in which this song was used.
It is a Korean song, and it’s featured in the KDrama My Sister-in-Law is 19. If anyone can find it from that, then grats to you.
For the music in episode 3, I think you can get it on Nodame Cantabile soundtrack, but I am not sure since I don’t have the full soundtrack anymore.
