Bleach - 151 - Tousen is watching you Fap / Shlick

Posted on December 12th, 2007 by Darkshaunz - 2,409 Views

Darkshaunz reports from inside Los Nachos

    Score: 7.0/10

Where the hell have I been? I’ve been busy with my new Xbox 360 (gamertag is Darkshaunz too, add me and stuff), Rets said that he’d help fill in for me. Alas, he went missing again, I think the Japanese Hikkikomoris finally got to him and are probably holding the poor bastard hostage in some seedy Japanese otaku torture dungeon, where they force him to rewatch episode after episode of Monster Rancher. I’m also going to be reporting on the Perth Anime Convention (Wai-Con), which I am attending on Saturday 15th December, the full coverage should be up by Sunday, if not, Monday at latest. Bleach then, and it seems that the crew are Finally heading off to rescue walking boobs from the clutches of the cruel Lord 70’s Hairgel.

Bleach - 149 - They finally reached Namek

Posted on November 21st, 2007 by Darkshaunz - 3,670 Views

    Darkshaunz enjoys the lightshow

    Score: 7.5/10

I must admit, this final episode to the filler arc was entertaining. Importantly, Bleach is learning, they now know that a short filler-arc burst with a lot of fighting ensures that rabid fans don’t send letterbombs to their studios. This short, but somewhat sweet mini-arc provides a nice little reprise from the main story. The main filler protagonist was admittedly kind of cool, there’s plenty of Rukia and all your favourite characters got a swing of the action. I am actually saying that if fillers will continue to resemble this one, hey, maybe it isn’t so bad after all. However, with this arc blissfully ending, we can now once again focus our attention into the bowels of Las Nachos (okay, that was kind of yucky).

Naruto Nice Boatuudden - Sai Sucks, Shizune Sexy

Posted on November 17th, 2007 by Darkshaunz - 4,611 Views

Darkshaunz checks out the latest in Konoha

Bleach fillers, goddamn. No, I haven’t picked up Naruto either, I just got kind of tired of the whole Menos Forest crapfest in Bleach (don’t worry Rukia fans, our girl is alright). So what does a man do when he gets sick of Super Spirit Fighting Rangers? He goes off and downloads the latest episode of Ninja’s-that-wear-normal-clothes-ruto of course. I am so far removed from the general Naruto anime plot that I have to use my years of intensive anime expert training, my wit and my stamina for enduring convoluted plothax storyline twists to my advantage. I am safely assuming that they are still looking for SASKAYYY, Akatsuki are still overpowered and Shizune is still hot.

Bleach - 147 - Everyone is kinky for Rukia

Darkshaunz gets lost in the Menos forest

    Score: 7.0/10 (Rukia, saves it)

I have an exam on Monday evening. Common sense and student logic dictates that I study for that exam, but like all good exponents of decent logic, I decide to take the serious academical consideration into the palms of my hands, and toss them into the great burning fires of procrastination. Bleach continues the trend of confusing the shit out of us, this week is neither great nor shit, but rests in a comfortable position slightly above mediocrity. It’s like I want to get angry at this episode, but I can’t because it has a metric tonne of Rukia in it, and enough “that was retarded, yet hilarious” moments to save it from the aforementioned Crash n’ Burn of say, 145. So in gambling my future away for this post, let’s get on with this chlorox fest.

    Bleach - 146 - Sensationell, simply sensationell

Posted on November 2nd, 2007 by Darkshaunz - 7,958 Views

Darkshaunz rides on a Giant Sandworm

    Score: 8.7/10

It’s a beautiful Saturday afternoon here, after a glorious sleep in preceeding a hectic university week, it was time to hit up the Bleach machine for some sand-filled goodness. Bleach’s performance is erratic at the moment, one week it is good, the next it dives into the oblivion, but this week’s latest installment takes off on all hydrogen boosters, hopefully propelling audiences into the vestiges of space before once again re-entering Earth’s atmosphere in some ditzy and cosmic catastrophe. If you have some sushi, some chips, or some beer, Bleach 146 is ridiculously satisfying for an episode in which nothing “really” happens. Goes to show that Bleach doesn’t have to continuously kill shit to keep it entertaining, seinfeld-ism helps in between after all.

Bleach - 145 - As exciting as a day in the Morgue

Darkshaunz readies for the crash n’ burn

    Score: 6.0/10

Another late entry for Bleach this week, as I have become innundated with a barrage of university assignments. Alright, what is there to say for this week’s episode? It was shit, yeah that would pretty much sum it up. Our friend Danny scored it with a 7, but then again he has a greater propensity for patience when it comes to rage-inducing episodes such as this one. Bleach anime at the moment resembles a plane that just took off on a promising flight, only to be hijacked by the AL-QUALITY terrorists and forced down to the ground at 300 km per hour until the craft smashes into a fiery death, taking down all the Bleach fans in the passenger cabin. To the guys over at Bleach Inc., make sure shit is happening in an episode, even if it’s non-filler.

Bleach - 144 - The Day Hueco Mondo stood still

Darkshaunz comes out to play After Dark

    Score: 8.0/10

Bleach is back this week, despite a “scare” by Dattebayo that they were going to drop it for Genshiken S2 (YHBT). I can tell the Bleach community is abuzz with the latest Bleach OP on offer. My only complaint is the usual, there’s just not enough Rukia in the intro and it lacks the suave and trendy style which was present in the first OP. Let’s face it, the first intro is by far superior to any that we’ve seen so far. Granted, this new OP is by no means “Bad”, it’s just the same related-to-arc crap which all the other anime are doing. Let’s get stuck into it before my fanboy starts showing and my rabies-foam starts to cover my LCD screen.

    CLANNAIDS - Contract it Today!

Posted on October 16th, 2007 by Darkshaunz - 3,132 Views

    Darkshaunz contracts CLANNAIDS

    Score: AIDS/10

Some of the anime communities I observe seem to be up in joyful glee, high-fiving each other and humping the nearest Kyou cardboard cutout at the release at Kyoto Animation’s latest, CLANNAD. When I first heard of CLANNAD, I thought it was a Heavy metal band or a Chapter from the God-Emperor’s Imperial Guard. So like all e-tough guys saying, “I will resist this bandwagon and never succumb!”, I succumb like a kitten tempted by a wollen ball. I can see why CLANNAD will be the Blizzard Entertainment of anime, Kyoani’s relentless assault on defining genres seems unstoppable, and lest writers like myself may continue to reject these abominations, we can’t help but want to Hug the shit out of Nagisa.
