    Gift ~Eternal Rainbow~ Final Thoughts

Posted on January 6th, 2007 by retsgip - 1,667 Views

    Overall Rating: 7.5/10

I just finished up the final episode of Gift ~Eternal Rainbow~ and DAMN, I was impressed. This was one of those diamond in the rough type shows because there are obvious problems with it, but once those are put in the background, there’s some good things this anime has to offer (like a life lesson omg?). The story is a little tacky in general, but it had some interesting twists until the ending. Bravo for Gift for allowing me to enjoy at least one harem this season (if this can even really be qualified as a harem). This beats the shit out of Yoake, and to me, was kind of on par with Kanon in terms of how much I enjoyed it.

As per request, the Ouran review

    Rating: 9.3/10

For some reason, as I write this entry, I get this really strange mental image of me at a group counseling session. It’s my turn to speak, and I stand up, raise my hand, and say: “Hi, I’m Retsgip. I’m male and I like Ouran High School Host Club.” My speech triggers a short round of applause, some oohs and awws, and a nice hearty group hug from my peers as they pat my back and telling me “it’s okay” and how proud they are of me. What the hell?

Zero no Tsukaima - 13 (Finale) + Final Thoughts

Darkshaunz farewells our beloved Pink Thunder
    Score: 8.7/10

Its finally here folks, the finale to the series we know and love as Zero no Tsukaima. We shared in their tears, smiles, magic hijinx, mischief and adventures. Alas, it is time we bid farewell to an enjoyable series, when viewed with a clear head and with expectations of fun and humour. Thirteen is my favourite number, so this episode doubled in significance for me. Ever since I decided to pick this up from the Fourth Episode, I had come to expect big things from this series…thankfully it went out with an acceptable bang.

    Air Gear - Final Thoughts

    Rating: 8.5/10

Not horrible, and not super awesome. I definitely enjoyed it despite whatever flaws it might have had. Maybe this is a perfect example of why I should be labeled as a fickle being? Maybe Air Gear was just a decent anime and people are stupid? Who knows?!?

    Rating: 9/10

With plenty bloodshed and a bucket of tears, Blood+ finally came to an end. It was a rough ride with many ups and downs, but overall the series turned out okay. What a bittersweet ending to another quality show.

Rating: 9.0/10 (Was too hard to rate this without being biased, sigh)

After waiting for what seemed like a lifetime, Shinsen-Subs finally subbed the last 2 episodes of Black Lagoon. And after what seems like a lifetime after that, I’m finally reviewing it.

    Infinite Ryvius: In-Depth

    Darkshaunz goes Vaia Hunting.

    Score: 8.0 / 10

Yeah, its a DvD cover, its that old.

This week I am bringing you guys a special Insight into a pretty heavyweight title, Infinite Ryvius. It’s a slightly aged anime now, as it was created by Sunrise in 1999. It still holds many merits as an anime title even after 7 years. There’s a lot to cover with this anime, its genre itself is quite unique. This isn’t typical Sci-Fi anime fare, but it is more along the lines of Space-Survival. Infinite Ryvius stands out by blending Mech action, realistic space action and a tight character cast interaction system. However, Ryvius really hits some themes hard with artillery, but seems to whimper out with soft punches on other elements.

    Mai-Hime: 9.1/10

    Mai-Otome: 8.9/10 (was close)

First, I’d like to mention that both Mai-Hime and Mai-Otome were entertaining and both pretty well made. They were both filled with action, romance, comedy, and a rather unique plot. I enjoyed watching both series and recommend everyone watch them both at least once.
