Bleach - 96

This was a pretty boring week, and sadly, Bleach was no exception. There was a small amount of action but I knew nobody was gonna die or be defeated, so I kind of lost interest, thus losing interest in the episode.
By the way, doesn’t Kariya have some pretty crazy eyebrows? I just now noticed that they curve up at the ends. I remember the announcer in Gladiator liked to curl his eyebrows, so maybe it’s some sort of symbolism of wealth in the old days??? Perhaps, there is no relevance at all, and I’m talking out of my ass…hmm.
When I saw this, the first thing that flashed into my mind was Kakashi-sensei saying “Teamwork” in his engrish accent. It’s nice to see these two actually work together, even if it was kind of by accident. After this they kind of do their own thing, but they’re still working together in their own way.
The only thing I disliked about this whole action sequence, is that not much happened. Sure they were fighting, but they were mostly yapping at each other. Too much dialog, not enough “PEW PEW” as they say. I DO however like how Ichigo rattles when he zips around in his Bankai form. I feel almost like I’m conditioned similar to Pavlov’s dogs, except whenever I hear the little jingle, I look around for blood or death.
Gasp! Shock? Ran’Tao looks exactly like the Bounto Yoshino? Yeah, kinda surprising, but it probably also means that they used Ran’Tao as a basis for at least one of the Bounto. She also seems to be played by the same voice actress as Tsunade from Naruto, although didn’t look too deep for the truth of this. She just sounds like it to me.
I like how she comments on Ichigo’s aura with a stern face of disapproval: “undignified” is what it was translated to. I guess Ichigo is kind of an oddity. I think Byakuya explained it best while he was fighting him like 40 episodes ago. Something like how everything Ichigo does is like slapping the Soul Society in the face.
Ishida shows up late. I really have problems with the way they portray Ishida in this anime. It’s not like if they had made him less retarded and more useful, that the anime would have fell through and plummeted through the Earth. God, at least give him a useful part somewhere. The only time I can remember him ever doing anything cool was when he went banana’s on that medical ninja, and in the ended didn’t even kill him. What a waste of a potential awesome character.
The fight pretty much ended as I predicted last episode, but I was completely wrong when I said this episode would be better. Pretty much stating that their fight will help promote their cause, instead of some other stupid catch phrase that could have been said. I was kind of disappointed when I didn’t hear an “Oh hohohoho” in the background as he disappeared.
Orgy! *clears throat* Well, that’s what I would be saying if I didn’t know she was like…what, a couple thousand years old? Hmm, maybe Ichigo prefers a lady with experience? We know Ishida does, plus I’m sure he’d enjoy a Yoshino look-a-like wrapped around him. Ririn is O_O in anticipation, obviously.
Yeah yeah, we learn a bit about Ran’Tao and how old she is, and how she retained a smidgen of her powers. Then she abruptly fell asleep out of nowhere. Naturally Ichgo and Ishida stay and wait. Next episode looks like more talking. Woopie!

Hm… I thought Ichigo could only use that dark Getsuga Tenshou when he went half-Hollow…
by Danny September 18th, 2006 at 1:06 amThey haven’t really said anything yet in the anime about Ichigo’s Getsuga Tenshou. I don’t have access to my old Bleach episodes since I’m at home and not at my apartment, so I can’t do much.
You should check out the Ichigo vs. Byakuya fight during the Soul Society arc. I believe Ichigo uses his Bankai version of Getsuga Tenshou there as well. I’m not sure if he’s half hollow or not when this happens.
There is however information from the manga that answers your question. Him using Getsuga Tenshou aparently brings him closer to a hollow. So that supports your reasoning.
That’s about as good as i can do
