Although this episode might be a stretch in terms of believability, I still enjoyed the messages it got across to the viewer. There were a lot of coincidental happenings, which I always tend to hate, but they were well done in this case. They weren’t major plot developments, but they helped the two other gentlemen, who stood in, do a splendid job helping two confused customers.

Bartender - 06 - The Story Inside the Glass

In reality, I wasn’t too thrilled with the plot of this episode, but at a second glance it turned out alright. I don’t think the writers have gone into as much depth with the drinks as they did with this episode, and we get to use a super awesome flaming hot sexual innuendo. Everybody wins! I’m sorry if my ratings are rather inflated, and that you (the reader) actually hates this show, but I fucking LOVE it. You may not feel many personal ties to the people he helps, but you do feel a sense of happiness after yet another person’s problems have been conquered. You know, kinda like living vicariously through Sasakura because we’re either too lazy, or not strong enough to help people as well as him.

Bartender - 05 - Things Forgotten In a Bar

Rating: 8.5/10

The title says it all. Bartender bent me over like the submissive anime viewer that I am, and the way they worked in Hemingway to their story pwned my butthole. I never lie, so you know this must be true. If this bar were real, I’d be in there every day…not that…I’m an alcoholic or anything. More along the lines of being gay. Umm…happy gay, yeah?

They both fail so hard it almost hurts to watch

Okay, I’m officially taking Bartender off of “on hold” status. I got me a new laptop and it runs better than my desktop back at my apartment. I almost feel spoiled, but then it was only 500 bucks after two rebates, which is pocket change when it comes to laptops. Unfortunately though, I feel pretty shitty so I didn’t take many pictures. Well, enough about me, on to Bartender!

I was a little disappointed with some portions of the artwork, which were pretty low at times (face shots mostly). Other than that, everything else was acceptable. The episode featured two stories, both involving extremely real situations involving couples, and it kind of hit home hard for me.

As much as I abso-fucking-lutely love this series, I’m afraid I’ll have to put it on hold. The computers in my parent’s house just can’t handle the high resolution that Lunar subs. So if anyone was wondering where the Bartender recaps were, well that’s the reason. I was surprised I was able to even take this snapshot before it froze my computer. Anyways, I’m getting a laptop for Christmas, so I’m hoping that should be enough power to run the high resolution.

As a side note, if anyone has any suggestions on what I can do to help smooth out my viewing, that would be awesome. I currently using VLC media player on default settings with an ancient P3 1GHz laptop with a built in video card that was just labeled “Mobility Raedon.”

We learn this episode that it is in fact true: Drinking solves all problems. If you don’t believe me, then watch Bartender and see for yourself! The catch to this statement though, is that you must drink at a bar with Ryuu as your bartender, or at least one that enjoys his/her job.

Three pictures because not much happens, but there is OH so much feeling!

I seriously love this show. I feel like when I watch it, my life suddenly becomes complete and everything slows way down. My heartbeat slows down, my breathing becomes regulated, and all physical/mental ailments suddenly are healed. Omg the powers of a “healing” anime.

Disclamer: I was drunk when I watched AND wrote about this episode. Fitting for the theme, yet not so fitting in my ability to blog. Sorry for any coherency problems. Seriously, this is Darkshaunz idea.

FINALLY!! Bartender got subbed. I can die happy now knowing exactly what kind of anime it is, and what to possibly expect from the future. I don’t have much experience with drinks or food in general, so I can’t comment on any of that, but I can say that I enjoyed the setting and overall theme of the first episode (omg?).
