Pumpkin Scissors - 16 - Darth Alice and Tuxedo Mask

Tuxedo Mask? No, Phantom of the opera? Hmm, Vega?

    Rating: 9.0/10

Another beautiful episode of Pumpkin Scissors! This episode was able to balance suspense, action, and comedy without seeming too rushed or that they were trying too hard. I for one, was quite happy to see some new kinds of encounters this time and was almost worried when Claymore I rolled in on a tank. I’m glad they didn’t overuse the whole “Panda-kun rapes a tank” theme and focused on other characters and their ability to fight. Awesome.

Pumpkin Scissors - 15 - Rape raises the spirit of man

*pushes glasses up and licks lips*

    Rating: 8.5/10

I was really looking forward to this episode, but alas, I was disappointed once again by this series. Don’t get me wrong, this wasn’t a bad episode, but I the events didn’t play out quite how I was lead to believe from the previous episode. I guess some issues needed to be resolved before the evil bad guy could finally get capped, and the bad guy needed to flex his evil organization muscles one last time to make us believe he wasn’t a pansy rat pansy.

    Pumpkin Scissors - 14 - So cold…*vador breath*

Luke…I am your father *pulls trigger*

    Rating: 8.9/10

I liked this episode a lot. We got 1 cup comedy, 2 cups action, a dash of eeriness, and a pinch of funky looking badguy. Et Voila! A well made, ‘rough yet delicious‘ meal of Pumpkin Scissors, at out disposal. Hell, the first scene roped me in pretty fast with its eerie natures, from then on it was landslide city. I hope jokingly quoting Star Wars doesn’t put me into the uber-geek category because I haven’t even watched them all yet *gasps*. Anyways, pretty good episode.

Pumpkin Scissors - 13 - ‘Rough yet delicious’

    Obligatory ep 13 loli shot

    Rating: 8.5/10

Only the most crude, horrible, and rather disturbing sequence of events came to mind when I learned the title of this episode: “Rough yet delicious.”  I already knew it was a lolicentric episode, so this sent me rolling on the floor, gasping for breath.  Only Pumpkin Scissors, a seemingly conservative anime, would pull a stunt like this and get away with it unscathed.  Really, grats to the writers.  This was gold.

Pumpkin Scissors - 12 - Going nowhere fast

    Strong Panda is STRONG

    Rating: 8/10

I’m kind of disappointed with this episode, and with this series in general. I was kind of hoping the art was going to be a little better, and that the plot would somehow pick up the pace by now, but its just lagging like crazy. Still, I can’t say I dislike this anime because I really don’t, I just wish they had done a better job on it so I could appreciate it for all that its worth.

Pumpkin Scissors - 11 - Kidnapping and Conspiracy

Posted on December 19th, 2006 by retsgip - 902 Views

Rating: 8.3/10 (better than the previous episodes)

I’m glad they’ve bounced back from the filler-esque type crap they’ve been putting out lately. I’m finally excited about where the plot is going, even though section 3 is still not relieving the pains of war by owning up some badguys. What I really mean is Panda-kun owning up some tanks with his schizo-lantern.

Pumpkin Scissors - 10 - A view into the past

Posted on December 12th, 2006 by retsgip - 2,059 Views

Rating: 8/10 (revising my scores a bit)

Finally an episode about Pumpkin Scissors’ past, which included some things like how it came to be, what jobs they used to be assigned to, and also a small glimpse of character interactions back then. Even though 98% of this episode was flashback, it was done in a decent manner which wasn’t very boring. Everyone loves stories right?!?

Pumpkin Scissors - 09 - He got dumped, yo!

Checkin’ out that ass like a true hero

    Rating: 8/10

Well, this was a nice little romance story. I’ve been hungering for some Oreld development ever since we caught a glimpse of where he grew up, and this episode “kind of” delivered. I say kind of because we don’t see his past, but what we do see is that despite Oreld’s flirtatious nature, he’s really a gentleman. And as we know, this world is in serious lack of gentlemen in both the Pumpkin Scissors world and the real world. Plus I’m kinda girly and I just love romance stories and this was kind of a romance story so kudos for that.
