Sad. The episodes are starting to stray from why I liked Air Gear so much. I loved the insane humor and the shameless plugs of fanservice of the earlier episodes. It feels now like they’re being too serious and it’s just not cutting it.
We haven’t seen a decent panorama of a new girl in ages. And what the hell was with the art this episode? It was simply ghastly. I didn’t bother trying to find any solo shots of Ringo because they were horrible. Her face was all contorted and the detail was just way too low.
FINALLY, Ikki puts two and two together and figures out that Sleeping Forest is on the top of the Tower, but they kind of disbanded due to an anonymous traitor. This traitor is also thought to be the father of Agito.
I kind of lied about not taking any pics of Ringo, but this isn’t a solo picture(close enough though). I think Simca looks fat and ugly now and where does it all originate? Her hair. Yup, cutting her hair made her look a little fatter. Try and imagine her in the same position, with the same clothes, but instead had longer hair…She’d be hot. As you can see, the artwork seems a little off too.
Here’s a nice pic of naruto with blue hair Ikki when he was a kid. Apparently he had a tough childhood. Poor kid. He surely is set up to be the sort of rags-to-riches type character. I don’t really mind or care as long as he keeps his sense of humor and style.
I’m glad Ikki decided to not join Genesis. Instead, he’s going to ally with them and then turn against them when he finds out what their strengths are. This is a perfect way to add some insane action later on, but my only problem is that if the series isn’t continuous, then we might have to wait to see this development. It’s either that, or they speed through the spying portion and do a few episodes of the battle. Anime News Network(ANN) claims that there’s only 25 episodes.
The only thing I really liked about this episode, was the scene in Wanijima Kaito’s trailer. I liked how they developed his character. He definitely has a soft spot for Agito/Akito and it showed in this scene. The pictures, coupled with him letting them take some money for their school trip, it just gave me a warm feeling in my belly(no I wasn’t puking, I was happy). Great development.
Well, so much for this anime being super awesome. Okay, I’ll take that back, it’s still cool, but it’s just not delivering what I wanted it to deliver. I’m still watching it, and still enjoying it more than Naruto, but I’m not finding it as cool as I once did. If they ever re-did this anime, I’d hope they riddled it with sexy females and had them doing AT battles 24/7(even in their sleep..).
Not a horrible episode, not the best. I’ll be praying for better episodes from now on.
