Bleach - 105
Posted on December 1st, 2006 by retsgip - 597 ViewsI couldn’t think of anything witty to call this episode, sigh…
Rating: 7/10
Not as bad as I had expected from this episode. When episode 104 ended, I wasn’t sure how they were going to keep up the suspense without some action. Already the plot has started to get a little shaky and I was worried, but they managed to keep my interest so I was proud. As I always say, a little bit of back story through flashbacks never hurt if they were used correctly, and I think they did an okay job this episode. BUT next episode looks like more flashbacks of Kariya’s past, and that’s just not cool. Overusing flashbacks can be dangerous business.
I wanna first say that Ishida is a little baby. I don’t see him having a purpose and goals which he’s actively pursuing. What I see is a stubborn child who thinks he’s helping by trying to throw his life away. I don’t know if that’s what the writers were trying to portray or not, but that’s what it looks like to me. Although, I believe he might have saved Ran Tao at the end of this episode because he was so stubborn. So maybe it’s not such a bad thing, but I still see it as a poor way to write his character.
Another thing I don’t understand is how Kariya can be so bitter towards Ran Tao when she’s the one who saved his life however many years ago. It really doesn’t make sense to me, but I guess we’ll find out next episode with yet another flashback? Lame. He’s basically acting like an animal. A handful of Shinigami hurt him, so he believes ALL Shinigami are out to hurt him, EVEN if they show no signs of hostility. Even little kids run back to their safe haven when they get teased/hurt/scared and they can discern that not all humans are the same. I guess Kariya is just one of those out to destroy the world because everything is so damn emo I need to go write songs and /wrists kind of guys. Shrug.
I’m totally not going to dig next episode. Be prepared for the worst, unless of course they surprise us with something neat…like Rukia fanservice or something.

lol you were kinda right about kariya and hating all shinigami for killing off all your friends and comrades and whatnot at a very young age, but look at (gasp)Ishida, he hated all shinigami too because of what mayuri did, hell not even that, just because they didnt get there ON TIME. Kariya is kinda justified since the shinigami in his case were the ones who were commiting the thing, not a hollow that was slain too late -.-;; ya know what rets,now that i think about it, i’m starting to agree with you on that whole ishida thing..
by Inuhanyou December 2nd, 2006 at 12:03 amI still think the bounto arc will end at episode 110, unless they do something stupid and throw in more flashback fillers. and with Ishida, I don’t like it either. With Ichigo in the rukia arc, at least he had a pretty cool reason and did everything with style. But Ishida is just too weak and can;t accomplish anything…lame
by Danny December 2nd, 2006 at 12:35 amI should note that in the manga, Ishida is less of a spineless baby that he is in the anime, so rest assured, once this anime breaks out…Ishida will actually be a functioning member of the Doom Squad once again. Why the anime writers are doing so, I have no idea. I think they are trying to set us up for the main normal plotline when the filler crap is over.
I love the idea of Rukia fanservice, and you know I’d download that like a Whirlwind.
by Darkshaunz December 2nd, 2006 at 1:28 am@inuhanyou: yeah true. That makes 2 characters so far who have lifelong grudges, gross.
@danny: yeah 110 sounds about right, that still means they’ll need at least 1 episode of fillers unless the kariya fight is like 3 episodes long. with at least 1 to cool down.
@darkshaunz: rukia fanservice pls thx.
