Still not sure what to make of this anime. I wouldn’t say it’s boring, in fact I’m far from bored when I watch it, but it’s just not…interesting? The main girls are pretty cute in their own ways, and they’re all different which is bonus points, but they’re not being worked into the plot enough. I guess they’re banking on the fact that this is 26 episodes and they’re biding their time, waiting for the opportune moment to load on the drama.
Speaking of drama, Aoba completely blew off Tsukasa this episode and I gave him a thumbs-up even though he couldn’t see me. Still, it’s the thought that counts. Personally, I think Aoba is an awesome lead harem male. Sure he won’t make you laugh with his infinite wit and charm, but he is one of the nicest harem males I’ve seen in a LONG time. Most of what he does is not for his own personal gain, at least not from what I can tell, which means he’s just an overall nice guy. Its rare to see nice guys finish…not last…once in awhile.
Inukai is SOOOO hot it’s almost painful. Just look at the way dresses and how he walks–soo hot! Shit, I’m having hot flashes someone hand me a fan. If I was a female I’d jump his bones in a heartbeat. In fact, I’d learn how to bend space and time so I could jump his bones even faster than a heartbeat. He pretty much takes the architype to a another level with his attitude and style, but what’s cool is he’s still just a normal guy. Usually the portrayed “cool” types are unrealistically above humans in some way, and Inukai doesn’t have that trait which is refreshing.
It’s kind of sad that this anime isn’t doing too well. There’s plenty of other “harems” out there that are pretty much giving it the middle finger and spitting on its face. Gift, Sumomomo, and Kanon are all doing better jobs with their harems, which sucks. Still, it has its own style and is different than all the other harems out there. This uniqueness is what keeps me coming back every week, and leaves me with a refreshing feeling after every episode. Here’s what I like about it:
- No dicks
- No sluts
- The females are goddesses instead of slaves
- Easy to watch
- Overall a pretty light comedy
Yup! Anyways, next episode looks like there’s going to be a love confession. *gasp*

Ah crap, I had this episode downloaded since last week and forgot about it…
Yeah…I have 3 episodes of pumpkin scissors I have yet to watch. Been meaning to catch up but I keep putting it off to do HW and other things. I still haven’t watched anything new (except BL and Death Note) in awhile which is sad. Everything else will just have to wait until after finals.
Thanks for the latest Yakuza Chicken Update. Man, just look at him go at the Chicken Feed. I bet he powers up just to have breakfast, that’s pretty damn GAR if you ask me (I hope he was nominated for SaiGAR).
Anyway, by the looks of things at least Tokimeki’s bringing in some Testosterone to level things harem-wise (and gender-wise), so in a sense, this makes it unique to other harems where the guy is usually drowned by hordes of ladies.
Also, first blog entry to have so much GAR in it. It Delivers.
I had similar feeling, but I believe further episodes are less “fillerish”, though Inukai development is good.
Random Thoughts on Ep06
..) The cynical( paranoid?) side of me says that this episode is for the yaoi-fangirls. Just look at the closing scenes for crying out loud. Two guys under a Tree of Confession, a cute kitten, the soft rays of sunlight, etc… ^^;

..) Yagen(Yakken?)-sensei’s BGM is totally awesome and totally the best BGM in Tokimeki. I find it interesting that the Pan-lady also uses this BGM in her début appearance. Maybe they are siblings? They both certainly ‘menace’ the students regularly.
..) Speaking of the kitten, the idea of a tough guy and a cute accessory in combination immediately made me think of Ouran High School Host Club(OHSHC) where the concept was discussed in detail( during the Yakuza Boy arc). You know, how a cute accessory( the kitten) makes a tough guy much more appealing to the girls. Hmm…
..) I’m glad Aoba has enough spine to defend girls( unlike say… a certain someone in a many-mo’s series…); but will he have enough to start making commitments to the girl he likes? I fervently hope that we do NOT get a wishy-washy scenerio.

not sure how many yaoi fangirls or fangirls in general who watch this show, but I’d assume this was some eye candy for them.
