    Zero no Tsukaima - 04

Posted on July 29th, 2006 by Darkshaunz - 562 Views

Darkshaunz sizes up the latest Zero.
    Score: 7.5/10

I’d like to start by saying that there are a couple of reasons why I picked up this series (Retsgip too): First and foremost, the VAs from Shakugan no Shana are doing the character voice acting for this series and secondly, Oh God Louise is Hot (and Unfortunately for me, I mean that in a literal sense). She’s meant to be 16, but looks 12, I guess she is just following in Shana’s footsteps to Loli-Queendom. Episode 04 starts investing some time into Siesta, the obligatory Meido-chan and Relationship-stunter character of the series.

    Naruto - 195

Naruto - 195 - The Third Great Beast, the Ultimate Rival!

    Rating: 8/10

This was one of the better fillers I’ve seen in quite awhile, but somehow, I was still left unsatisfied at the end. At least this seems to be a story that goes longer than one episode, finally breaking that god awful trend of one episode filler stories. I’m not saying this is a good story, but there are a few reasons why I like this episode: a) Gai + Lee, b) some funny scenes, and c) more than 1 episode filler.

    Brief Anime Overview (July 06)

Since I don’t have a ton of time with the intensive summer courses I’m taking, I’m not able to blog a decent amount of anime. Seeing as I watch like 182,147,239 different shows, but don’t have enough time to blog them all fully, I figured I’d at least give a little write-up of each in a big long post. Sounds fun huh?! Also, maybe when I have the time, I might start blogging a few of these, we’ll see.

    Naruto: Female Focus!

Posted on July 24th, 2006 by Darkshaunz - 47,366 Views

    Darkshaunz fancies himself some Kunoichis.

Let’s try and ignore the ugliness of Fillers for a moment. Try and zone yourself out to a time when Naruto actually followed the mangaka’s storyline, a time where the characters all had their normal state of powers and were what they were always meant to be, Kick ass ninjas. The zoning’s not complete though, now envision some of the more awesome female characters in the world of Naruto. Now, your brain is probrably hooked on Sakura, the pink-haired tsundere we were all meant to like. But I say this, get the pink-haired beauty out of your mind’s eye for a second; as I take you on a journey to appreciate the goddesses on the Naru-verse which stand out both in terms of beauty and general kick-assery!

    School Rumble 2nd Term - 13 (dropped)

    Rating: 8/10

I’d say, overall, this was a pretty good episode. It was pretty much typical School Rumble material. I just wish that they fit in more relationship related stuff, but the comedy was good enough to make it worth watching.

    Air Gear - 14

    Rating: 7/10

    Crows: 1

I’ll be counting crows from now on to indicate the “fanservice” level of each episode. Plus its fun! As for the episode, it was alright. I’ve seen worse, but I’m still ranking it pretty low for an Air Gear episode. Normally they’re all around the 8/10 level, but I think they tried a little too hard to be serious this time.

    Infinite Ryvius: In-Depth

Posted on July 21st, 2006 by Darkshaunz - 2,244 Views

    Darkshaunz goes Vaia Hunting.

    Score: 8.0 / 10

Yeah, its a DvD cover, its that old.

This week I am bringing you guys a special Insight into a pretty heavyweight title, Infinite Ryvius. It’s a slightly aged anime now, as it was created by Sunrise in 1999. It still holds many merits as an anime title even after 7 years. There’s a lot to cover with this anime, its genre itself is quite unique. This isn’t typical Sci-Fi anime fare, but it is more along the lines of Space-Survival. Infinite Ryvius stands out by blending Mech action, realistic space action and a tight character cast interaction system. However, Ryvius really hits some themes hard with artillery, but seems to whimper out with soft punches on other elements.

    Mai-Hime: 9.1/10

    Mai-Otome: 8.9/10 (was close)

First, I’d like to mention that both Mai-Hime and Mai-Otome were entertaining and both pretty well made. They were both filled with action, romance, comedy, and a rather unique plot. I enjoyed watching both series and recommend everyone watch them both at least once.
