    1000 years of pain

Hidden Leave Ancient Taijutsu Supreme Technique:
    One Thousand Years of PAIN

OH hohoho~! My Narutard is finally catching up to me, but enough of that. Basically just reminding anyone who actually reads this blog that I have been extremely busy and it will continue to be such for another 6 weeks. On top of all the reading and writing I’ve had to do for school, I’m also trying to find a job for next term (since I’m graduating), watch/blog anime, as well as live a normal life. Yes, life is sticking four fingers into my ass, and shooting me 30 feet into the air. Gfg.

The Parody of Haruhi Suzumiya - The Full TV ED Guide

Posted on January 26th, 2007 by Darkshaunz - 13,252 Views

Darkshaunz tries to DDR without tripping breaking an arm.

It’s finally here, the Full Dance ED sequence to last year’s hyped Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Personally, we at Retsgip anime blog were entertained by the series, and we always did appreciate the cool dance they did at the end of each episode. Now that the full thing is here, something crossed my mind whilst watching it, the individual poses which make up the full thing are actually nothing but references to Dragonball Z, real ife, memes, hip hop and even Nazi Germany. Yes, its finally a true dancing animu. Ladies and Gentlemen, I invite you to a journey into the workings of a 1 minute ED sequence.

Pumpkin Scissors - 16 - Darth Alice and Tuxedo Mask

Tuxedo Mask? No, Phantom of the opera? Hmm, Vega?

    Rating: 9.0/10

Another beautiful episode of Pumpkin Scissors! This episode was able to balance suspense, action, and comedy without seeming too rushed or that they were trying too hard. I for one, was quite happy to see some new kinds of encounters this time and was almost worried when Claymore I rolled in on a tank. I’m glad they didn’t overuse the whole “Panda-kun rapes a tank” theme and focused on other characters and their ability to fight. Awesome.

Bleach - 112 - Finger in the butt

Nothing says “I love you” like a finger in the butt…or somewhere

    Rating: 9.0/10

It seemed like they skimped a little bit on the art here and there, but I couldn’t tell if it was for comedic effect or not. In the end it doesn’t really matter because the story has completely opened up, and I can’t help but love it. The story now has so many different possibilities (yeah yeah, manga readers know all) in which it can turn, and I have no idea what to expect. I do know, however, that this is a cyclical storyline so we’re probably going to get some sort of rescue mission somewhere.

Asatte no Houkou - 11 - The love is strong

    I like the reflection

    Rating: 9.5/10

Every time I watch an episode of Asatte no Houkou, I feel like I fall in love with every aspect over again. I can’t really blame the fansub group for not being The Flash, but it does kind of disconnect my thoughts and emotions from the anime. I would have liked to not have month-long breaks between episodes, but life is cruel…kinda like love… /wrists.

    Tokyo Majin - 01 - Braiiinnnssss

Darkshaunz calls Raccoon City Police Department

    Score: 9.2/10

Rets and our friend Danny managed to watch the raw of Tokyo Majin, and apparently it was so good that they demanded my immediate download of said anime. Fearing their cruel threats to unbox all my evangelion figurines (think of the children!) from their original packaging, I folded and finally downloaded it. To my immense pleasure and entertainment, it was definitely worth the small hit to my measly download cap. Maintaining a fine-tuned balance of zombie-smashing, ninja-taoist seals, hot fighting babes, a hot starting babe in distress and guys with enough GAR to destroy the universe, Tokyo Majin is looking like it will to take back the throne of Bel-Air.

    It’s in Manabi, stealin’ the innocence (02 - 03)

    WHRYYYYYYYYYYY

This better not be an indication of more fanservice to come. I felt like I was hit in the face by a ball after watching the dodge ball scene. Why did they choose to accent such features? Have they finally broken down and decided to add a small amount of fanservice? I will turn away from this particular incident and pretend it was a some potential yuri material (YFR? not quite) for the young female audience. *whistles innocently* In all seriousness, it’s not that big of a deal, but it did kind of disappoint me seeing as I’ve been preaching that this is a show made to accent friendship and growth rather than lolis.

Strike Witches - Prelude - Already Anime of the Year

Posted on January 22nd, 2007 by Darkshaunz - 4,396 Views

    Darkshaunz dogfights with Loliplanes.

Score: 9001/9000 (Best Anime Ever, already)

So I was looking at all the potential releases for this season, and came across a title called “Strike Witches”. Now, after some good old fashioned research (also known as googling), it turns out its an OVA or some sorts on mecha musume (or lolis fused with WWII parts). This got me thinking, I wanted Epic battles in space (sky comes close) and WWII references in my previous Our anime passion post. Finally, I thought to myself, my dreams have been realized and I received a monster of frankensteinial proportions. Strike Witches is a shining example of an anime which does things all at once, especially fetish-wise, and the best thing is, you can throw your brain away whilst watching. Journey with me, into Strike Witches (Its not for the faint of heart).
